Dissertation Topic: Public Spaces, Communal Places: The Integration of Urban Polities and the use of Public Space at the Hinterland Community of San Lorenzo, Belize
Research Interests: I am broadly interested in the rise of social complexity, and they ways that these changes may be seen within households, communities, and ritual landscapes. My current principal research focus in on the complexity of low-density urbanism, and the ways in which rural communities were integrated into larger social, political, and economic networks. Working with the Mopan Valley Preclassic Project, I have charted the development of public buildings over time to understand how the local community responded to broader changes within Maya society.
