In the final decades prior to the Spanish conquest of Andean South America, the Inka Empire and its local allies engaged in far-reaching trade efforts with indigenous lowland peoples of the Bolivian Chaco. These interactions with populations of the Saipuru region likely drove local processes of social and cultural change that affected all of the groups involved. Photo captured by Matthew Warren.
